MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of state approved High School Equivalency (HSE) Testing Program. One year of satisfactory school nutrition experience or food service management experience and completion of Orientation for Nutrition Employees (ONE) course. Completion of Georgia Department of Education Manager and Culinary Pathway coursework and CCSD Manager in Training course within one year of placement. Passing score on ServSafe National Certification test. General knowledge of quantity food service, sanitation and nutrition. Basic computer literacy required. Strong leadership skills and prior experience in food production in cooking or baking recommended.
GOAL
Provide excellent customer service to students, staff and visitors in an efficient and professional manner. Complete all necessary training to assist in managing the School Nutrition Program independently and successfully in compliance with all federal, state and Board policies and procedures.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist as needed and assigned in all phases of food production: cooking, baking, serving, cashiering and other duties.

Assist in maintaining all production points for safety, quality and quantity.

Assist in maintaining accurate records in compliance with federal, state and local procedures.

Assist in receiving and storing food and other supplies.

Enforce sanitation practices and require high standards of grooming and hygiene.

Utilize and maintain equipment as trained. Train staff in the proper use and care of food service equipment.

Strong leadership skills to instruct and train other personnel and follows instructions both verbal and written.

Maintains current ServSafe certification

Creates an atmosphere in the cafeteria which results in high percentage of student and adult participation through frequent promotions and activities.

Communicate effectively and promotes good public relations with students, teachers, administrators and the community.

Works with peers/supervisors in tactful, considerate and cooperative manner and assist others when needed

Exhibit ability and willingness to cooperate and work well with others; take oral and written instructions; cope in emergency situations and follow through efficiently.

Perform and promote all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies of The School Board of Cherokee County.

Practice safety continuously and ensure that safe working conditions exist in the kitchen area, including approved instructions for chemical use in the operation of the program.

Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position.

Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner.

Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to the assignment.

Review current developments, literature and technical source information related to job responsibilities.

Assist manager with technology-based computer programs, including but not limited to: time keeping, inventory, production planning, etc.

Perform as the Acting Manager in the absence of the School Nutrition Manager.

Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.

Follow federal and state laws, as well as Board policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.
