MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Georgia Drivers License.
GOAL
Ensure safe transportation for students.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate effectively with students.
- Manage and control student behavior.
- Assist with loading/unloading of students, including wheelchairs, and making sure all equipment and medical paraphernalia (accessories) are properly stored and secured before the bus is moved.
- Supervise seating arrangements.
- Assist with emergency care of students with medical needs.
- Assist with evacuation procedures.
- Communicate and establish positive relationships with parents and school personnel.
- Attend all in-service training as required.
- Assist driver in other related bus duties.
- Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position.
- Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner.
- Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to the assignment.
- Review current developments, literature and technical source information related to job responsibilities.
- Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.
- Follow federal and state laws, as well as Board policies.
- Observe universal precautions (when necessary).
- Properly dispose of bio-hazardous materials, sharp items and unused or unidentified medications. Report to administrator as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
