MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s Degree or higher with Educational Leadership certification as required by the Professional Standards Commission.  Minimum of eight successful years as an educator required; administrative experience preferred. Strong knowledge of standards, aligning resources, student progress monitoring, and improving achievement at scale; ability to communicate effectively; strong organization skills. 

 

GOAL

Responsible for providing leadership and direction for planning, designing and implementing Professional Development that is in direct alignment with the Superintendent’s key priorities.  The incumbent ensures the effective operation of CCSD’s Professional Development program by working effectively across divisions. This position is responsible for assisting the Executive Director of Academics with budget responsibilities and supervises the Title II Specialists.

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides professional development activities that are in alignment with the Superintendent’s key priorities.
  • Represents the district and the Division of Academics and Accountability on cross-functional, system-wide, and school based academic programming.
  • Assists with program planning and evaluation to improve the efficiency and effectiveness for teaching and learning.
  • Promotes effective instructional practices that support high levels of instruction using research-based data driven best practices.
  • Promotes Instructional Framework best practices that result in improving student achievement.
  • Coordinate the gathering and analysis of data relevant to the professional development needs of the School District.
  • Plan and initiate strategies for improving school effectiveness.
  • Manages the day-to-day responsibilities for the Title II Federal Program.
  • Supervises the Title II Specialists to ensure effective delivery of professional development.
  • Communicate effectively in both written and oral forms to facilitate program implementation.
  • Coordinate program evaluation of all professional development functions in the district.
  • Perform and promote all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination.
  • Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position.
  • Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner.
  • Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to assignments.
  • Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibility.
  • Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.
  • Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
