MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Georgia Drivers License.


GOAL
Ensure safe transportation for students.


REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate effectively with students.
  • Manage and control student behavior.
  • Assist with loading/unloading of students, including wheelchairs, and making sure all equipment and medical paraphernalia (accessories) are properly stored and secured before the bus is moved.
  • Supervise seating arrangements.
  • Assist with emergency care of students with medical needs.
  • Assist with evacuation procedures.
  • Communicate and establish positive relationships with parents and school personnel.
  • Attend all in-service training as required.
  • Assist driver in other related bus duties.
  • Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position.
  • Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner.
  • Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to the assignment.
  • Review current developments, literature and technical source information related to job responsibilities.
  • Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.
  • Follow federal and state laws, as well as Board policies.
  • Observe universal precautions (when necessary).
  • Properly dispose of bio-hazardous materials, sharp items and unused or unidentified medications. Report to administrator as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
